A LIFETIME OF COMMITMENT TO MIDLAND COUNTY
Born and raised in Midland, Myron comes from a large family of nine children. He attended Parochial (Catholic) schools through 6th grade and then attended Midland Public Schools; graduating from Midland High School in 1990.
Myron earned his Associate Degree in Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement from Delta College and graduated from the Northeastern Basic Police Academy in 1993. He later furthered his education in Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement through Ferris State University.
Myron began his law enforcement career with the Midland County Sheriff's Office as a Marine Patrol Deputy in 1992. In 1993, Myron was also employed with the Midland Township Police Department and the Clare County Sheriff's Office as part-time patrol. In early 1995, he was hired full-time by the Oakland County Sheriff's Office as a Corrections Deputy. Then, in late 1995, Myron was hired full-time by the Midland County Sheriff's Office, where he has been ever since. Over the course of Myron's career, he has worked in every division of the Sheriff's Office: Marine Patrol, Records, Court Security, Corrections/Jail, Prisoner Transport, Road Patrol, and several years as an undercover narcotics detective.
Myron has served on the executive boards of the Midland Sheriff Employees Association and Midland Patrol Deputies Association since 2002 (serving as President from 2007-2011), giving him vast experience in contract negotiations, human resource management, labor dispute resolution, and working with the Board of Commissioners in the budgeting process.
In the private sector, prior to his career in law enforcement, Myron gained experience in business and management as he managed a several hundred thousand dollar per year retail establishment with a staff of up to 11 employees. He was responsible for scheduling, inventory, payroll and any personnel issues. Additionally, for the past six years Myron has been a very successful entrepreneur--running an online business of selling antiques and collectibles.
Myron is a current member of the Midland Patrol Deputies Association (Secretary), Christian Celebration Center, Midland Noon Rotary, Leadership Midland Alumni Association, Midland County Republican Party, Sanford Historical Society, Midland Business Alliance, Michigan Sheriff's Association, NRA, and Ducks Unlimited.
For decades, Myron has volunteered and/or financially supported many local non-profit organizations and community projects. He has also served on various boards and committees throughout his career also.
Myron resides in Midland with his daughter Madison, his wife Tammi and her two children, son Justin and daughter Julia.
